Welcome to my talk page.

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Conversion of units. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.

But we need encyclopedia text not howto text, thanks. 72.67.104.27 (talk) 18:06, 4 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] {{Userpage}}

Any particular reason why you are adding this to a whole lot of pages? It's not a necessity to have these tags at all. Spebi 05:06, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Yes, you added this to my userpage. Unless you're friends with the user, it's usually better to ask them before making changes in their userspace. Thanks, нмŵוτнτ 05:17, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
No need to be sorry, I'm just letting you know that it's not a requirement (if it was, it would be implemented through the software) and that users can choose to not display it if they want to. I won't revert your edits (I started to, stopped) and let the individual editors decide whether they want to keep the tag or not. Cheers :) Spebi 05:18, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Howto material

When you find {{howto}} tagged material in articles, if it can be re-worded to avoid the appearance of giving advice, it is better than deleting it. Any reworded content that is encyclopedic should be kept. For example, when I looked over your deletion, I found a way to reword some of the content and extend it. - Neparis (talk) 15:32, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to Anarchism. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. CWii(Talk|Contribs) 01:32, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Stop and consider before deleting

In a major article like Aristotle, content that makes definite claims about something in the body of Aristotle's work would most likely have been removed a long time ago if it were totally implausible and inaccurate. It is not helpful in such a case to delete uncited text. Better would be to argue the urgency of references on the talk page. In the cases of Aristotle's view on (A) women's teeth and (B) the Milky Way, the references were actually fairly easy to come by. While your deletions in this case had the salutary effect of pushing a couple of editors to produce the needed references, this is outweighed by the danger of letting good material fall between the cracks & disappear from the encyclopedia. I'm supposed to use a template to tell you this but I figured you wouldn't want me to spam the template. I made your requested redirect pages for these articles:

Thanks for the suggestions! CredoFromStart talk 17:49, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
