[edit] Loose (album)

Your recent contribution(s) to the Wikipedia article Loose (album) are very much appreciated. However, you did not provide references or sources for your information. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a drive to improve the quality of Wikipedia by encouraging editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. If sources are left unreferenced, it may count as original research, which is not allowed. Can you provide in the article specific references to any books, articles, websites or other reliable sources that will allow people to verify the content in the article? You can use a citation method listed at inline citations that best suits each article. Thanks! Extraordinary Machine 19:22, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

yeah thats nice but that reference is old! and her sales have passed 2.48 mllion shes at 2.6 million mediatraffic.de doesnt specify specific sales. therefore you're references are INACCURATE! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.81.215.166 (talkcontribs) 21:34, 30 November 2006. Extraordinary Machine 21:49, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
Please cite a reliable source source for this or I'll have to undo your edit again. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 21:49, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

ill keep re-editing it honey:-) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.81.215.166 (talkcontribs) 00:15, 1 December 2006.

And your edit will be undone, if not by me then by another editor, because you still haven't cited a source as you've been asked to do. Wikipedia:Verifiability is official policy, and the obligation to provide a reliable source lies with editors wishing to include material in an article, not on those seeking to remove it. Extraordinary Machine 21:02, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Please do not remove content from Wikipedia, as you did to Loose (album). It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. codetiger 04:13, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

funny person you are....I delete stuff that isnt needed for example mediatraffic sales are wrong. I edit im allowed just like everyone else... i do my research and i know my sh*t Im removing the mediatraffic sales chart...it is useless!! and sales are at 3,100,000 haa! u dont even know what you are talking about! for 3 weeks in a row nelly furtado's Loose wasnt even on the top 40 mediatraffic!! week 47 48 49! useless! wrong information! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.81.215.166 (talkcontribs) 08:29, 22 December 2006.

if you update ur information on mediatraffic and find exact sales then i would let it be....but those sales are wrong! as i said week 47 48 49 on mediatraffic loose wasnt on the top 40...ur just making stuff up —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.81.215.166 (talkcontribs) 08:36, 22 December 2006.

Where are you getting the 3.1 million worldwide figure from? As I've already asked you, please provide a reliable source for your information. Repeatedly changing cited information is considered vandalism. Extraordinary Machine 15:41, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

and yeah where did you get those sales for those 3 weeks she didnt chart the top 40 on mediatraffic? buddy on her website it says 3,000,000 units sold with 164k sold last week from mediatraffic it should be around 3.1 million if it really bothers you then ill change it to 3 million as her website states it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.81.215.166 (talkcontribs) 04:57, 23 December 2006.

The source for the three million claim is Furtado's website, not Mediatraffic. Message board postings are not reliable sources. Extraordinary Machine 14:43, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

I've corrected some of your edits again. Wikipedia style guidelines prohibit capitalisation of words that aren't proper nouns, such as "platinum". Please don't insert repeat wikilinks (e.g. IFPI), and please check where the links lead to; for example, AFP leads to a disambiguation page, not an article. Loose is platinum in Germany, not double platinum; check the IFPI link in the article (http://www.ifpi.de/wirtschaft/gpergebnis.php?strAktion=suche&txtSuche=Loose). The page at http://fanofmusic.free.fr/ParcoursAlbum-N.php doesn't say the certification of the album in France; where are you getting this information from? How is http://www.clickitaliansoftware.net/hosted/vgcgroup/WorldwideAlbum/2006todate.htm a more reliable source than Media Traffic? It could have been written by anyone. Look, it's good that you want to keep information up to date, but you need to realise the importance of citing reliable sources and not altering information that is already referenced and verified. Repeatedly changing cited information may be considered disruptive, so please stop this. Extraordinary Machine 23:36, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

Again, why aren't you citing reliable sources? Why are you altering cited information without explanation? Just because the album has sold a certain amount in France doesn't mean that it has been certified for shipping that amount. Removing requests for citations is considered disruptive as well. If you don't stop this, you may be blocked from editing for a period, so I suggest you cite reliable sources for your information, adhere to the style guidelines and reply to other users' messages. Thanks. Extraordinary Machine 21:25, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
I've noticed that you inserted unsourced and inaccurate information into the article again, and I've reverted again. Ignoring other editors completely is simply unacceptable. You know what's required because I've explained it several times already, so I won't bother directing you to the relevant policy and guideline pages. Persistently and knowingly inserting inaccurate information into articles is considered vandalism and will lead to you being temporarily blocked from editing if you continue. This is your last warning. Extraordinary Machine 13:14, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blocked for 24 hours

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for repeatedly inserting inaccurate information into articles, which is vandalism. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by replying here on your talk page, by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} .

Blocked again, this time for 48 hours, for the same reason. Please stop this. Extraordinary Machine 12:15, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

blocked for no reason! my source is where i work. I cannot find the source on the itnernet. I find out info on nelly's sales at my job...How dare you block me!!!....mediatraffic is fake... anyways i know im right i dont care i know her sales you take this too seriously u NERD

  1. No personal attacks.
  2. Please Wikipedia:Record charts, which stipulates that charts be listed in alphabetical order, not in order of chart position.
  3. Please stop citing unreliable sources. If you have a reliable source to support your claim that media traffic covers only 92.5% of world sales, please provide it. Extraordinary Machine 20:37, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Again, Wikipedia:Record charts stipulates that charts be listed in alphabetical order; if you disagree with that, leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Record charts rather than reverting again and again without explanation. And certifications represent units shipped to retailers, not sold. Extraordinary Machine 17:33, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Blocked for one week

Blocked again, this time for one week, for persistent vandalism and disruption. You were warned again and again by myself and other editors. Verifiability is official policy and of all the thousands of users on Wikipedia I don't see why you alone should be allowed to ignore it, simply because you can't be bothered to find reliable sources or don't care about policy. Anybody could make a similar plea. We have some outstandingly well-referenced articles about some highly significant and controversial subjects and they cite all their sources, so if you're serious about contributing to Wikipedia you need to accept this is policy, and either cite reliable sources and stop edit-warring without any discussion, or move on. Extraordinary Machine 01:59, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed content from Loose (album). Please be more careful when editing articles and do not remove content from Wikipedia without a good reason, which should be specified in the edit summary. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment again, please use the sandbox. Thank you. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. Jmlk17 08:19, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

--Yamla 14:12, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

I've reverted your edits to Loose (album) again. You claimed that the album had sold ten million copies before, and now you're claiming ~six million again... which is it? Adding the alleged "missing" 7.5% to the Media Traffic figure is original research, because the 7.5% figure is an estimation that could vary from album to album (depending on how well each sells in the regions covered/not covered by Media Traffic). Original research is not allowed. And nobody on ukmix.org or wherever seem to have said how they know or where they read that Media Traffic only covers 92.5% of worldwide album sales. Removing reliable sources and replacing them with unreliable ones (such as .tk websites) will lead to you being blocked for an even longer period.
I seriously hope you'll use this time out to rethink your approach to contributing to Wikipedia. Extraordinary Machine 17:24, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
