Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did in General Entertainment. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Las Vegas, Nevada. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. — ERcheck (talk) 16:36, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Las Vegas metropolitan area, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing anyone from linking to them from any site that uses the MediaWiki spam blacklist, which includes all of Wikimedia and Wikipedia. — ERcheck (talk) 16:38, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Temporary block for external link spam
You have been asked to stop adding external links for commercial sites. You have continued to these links after being asked not to, most recently for a LV ticketing site for tickets to Spamalot and a link to an organization selling products to the Glycolic acid article.
Please review the following Wikipedia pages if you are unclear on the reason for the temporary block from editing:

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Security lighting. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Thank you. Versageek 05:07, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
This is your only warning. The next time you insert a spam link, as you did to Spamalot, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing their websites from appearing on Wikipedia and other sites that use the MediaWiki spam blacklist at all. — RevRagnarok Talk Contrib 17:41, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
