From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Due to persistent vandalism (see edit log), editing by anonymous users from your school, library or institution's IP address may be currently disabled. You continue to have full access to read the encyclopedia. If you are logged in but still unable to edit, please follow these instructions. To prevent abuse, account creation via this IP address is probably also disabled.
If editing is required for class projects, please have your teacher or network administrator contact us (with reference to this IP address) at unblock-en-l from an email address listed on your school's website. Alternatively, if you have no Internet access at home, you may email us using your school-issued email address, telling us your preferred username. An account will be created for you. Please check on this list that the username you choose has not already been taken.
Thank you.

This IP address is registered to Tredyffrin Easttown School District.
While legitimate edits may have been made through this anonymous account, the network administrator asked that the IPs be blocked, to prevent students from making edits.
For more on this process, see Wikipedia:Consented blocks
{{unblock|People who are signed in as their own account are not allowed to access the editing function. This is especially unfair as many of the accounts affected have never vandalised anything in the duration of the existence of their account, and in fact have added many helpful contributions.}} The previous request was archived before a response, originally added by User:64.9.10.166.
According to Wikipedia:Consented blocks, users signed in on their own accounts should be able to make edits. I do not see this happening, and it is very annoying to see vandalism on the less popular pages, and not be able to fix it or even alert anyone to it. --64.9.10.166 13:58, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
- I can understand your frustration but the software has no such facility to allow that (yet), since the network admin has asked that the IP is blocked there is nothing that can be done. Sorry --pgk(talk) 17:53, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

- Also, it says this is a proposed policy. So why have blocks already been issued through that which is not yet official policy? --Nintendorulez (had to log out to edit this page). 13:32, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

- I'm not sure who unblocked this account, however, it does more harm by random vandalism than it does good by the occasional constructive edit by a more conscientious user. I also seem to remember that the TESD block of IP addresses was blocked due to a specific request from a district employee and was not to be undone. As much as I would have hoped students would have kept their heads and not committed the acts of vandalism which they have, it is apparent that students are misusing the easily denied priviledge of editing this encyclopedia, and are damaging the reputation and character of their schools and the district. I hereby suggest that Wikipedia administrators look into blocking the IPs associated with the Tredyffrin-Easttown School District once more, knowing full well my opinions and suggestions are close to irrelevant in this matter and do not imply any changes will be made. --Chromium 13:51, 14 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Consented Block
When was the consented block lifted? The freddinator 01:33, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
- My guess is it was lifted fairly recently, having only noticed this block not being in effect in the last few days and noticing the vandalism starting only recently. I think there might have been an administrative error. (still chromium here) 64.9.10.166 11:04, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Vitamin A, are considered vandalism and are immediately reverted. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the work of others. Thank you. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Walt Whitman, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot. If you believe there has been a mistake and would like to report a false positive, please report it here and then remove this warning from your talk page.
