[edit] Andy Barnett (radio)

Welcome to Wikipedia. It would be appreciated if you would not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with Andy Barnett (radio). Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. --Geniac 19:23, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Andy Barnett

I've reverted your edit to Andy Barnett because the Andy Barnett (radio) of KNSI was decided to be not notable and so that article was deleted. Thank you. --Geniac 03:03, 28 September 2007 (UTC)

I don't doubt he exists, but these articles only mention him, they are not about him. See Wikipedia:Notability (people) particularly the 'Criteria for notability of people' section. The first is "The person has been the subject of..." Note, however, "meeting one or more does not guarantee that a subject should be included." For example, I've been the subject of two newspaper articles, but I don't consider myself notable.
Primary sources are usually not considered reliable sources; anybody musician could write on their own website that their latest album sold 50 million copies.
You may interested in either creating an account so you can re-make the article, or taking it to Wikipedia:Deletion review.
Yes, Andy Barnett is tagged as not citing any references or sources. However, "What about article x?" is not a convincing argument. If you believe that person not to be notable, feel free to nominate that article for deletion.

[edit] November 2007

YouTube videos are not considered reliable sources. The two articles in the St. Cloud Times look fine because they are actually about him. More sources are better; if you find at least one other publication with an article about Barnett, I'll restore the article. --Geniac 23:40, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Yes, that transcript is fine because it is hosted on CNN's website, which is considered a reliable source. --Geniac 13:53, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
