Hello, I have recently ben granted administrative power on the Land Before TIme Wiki, and am looking for other trustworthy users who could be admins as well. Would you like to be an admin on the Land Before Time Wiki? --Ye Olde Luke (talk) 01:20, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
- Don't worry, I'm kinda playing it by ear too. I only got the job since I requested it at Wikia (this is, by the way, why I haven't changed your user status yet; mainly, I don't know how and am asking a more skilled friend how to do it). Most of it is pretty self explanatory. Once you become an admin, a bunch more little tabs appear at the top of your screen (the same as the ones you've already got, you know, "article," "edit this page," "history" etc.) and these new ones say thing like "Delete," "Protect," or "move," and you click on them to do said things. You can also ban vandals, view deleted contributions, and lots of things normal users can't. Just try things and experiment, and if you mess up one of us can simply revert the damage, no harm done. Once you get the hang of it, you'll like it, trust me.
- Oh, one other thing: don't get worried that I'll get mad at you or something if you aren't editing enough or never seem to be on, I won't care. Myself, I'm probably going to check on the wiki probably every Friday afternoon, fix what needs to be fixed, and then dissapear for another week. Running a wiki is supposed to be a fun way to pass the time, not a job or an obligation.
