From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you.-gadfium 08:14, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. -gadfium 08:24, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

I am not spamming and after reading the link guidelines i am confident that I am adding relevant links to the topic. If find it very suspicious that you remove the links that I am adding and that you are leaving links to site that are error pages.

How do you explain this ?

Tha fact that you do not respond is even more suspicious. I will be taking this further as there is clearly a bias here.

You are welcome to cleanup bad links in articles. However, the links you are adding are very clearly spam. You will be blocked if you continue to add them.-gadfium 08:38, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Please explain how they are spam ! They are linking to resources on the web which are directly related to the topic. Explain yourself!

You just said you had read the link guidelines! Again see Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links.-gadfium 08:43, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

This is your last warning.
The next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Editing User talk:41.243.76.93, you will be blocked from editing. Please respect the guidelines to editing on Wikipedia Thanks. ---Eric 08:46, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

How on earth is reponding to a message vandalism ?

What happened to wikipedia's policy of being neutral ? Clearly this is not the case.

Can you please show me one link that I added that was NOT relevant to the topic of that page ?

This is from the guidelines - Many sites are commercial in nature. Although this provides motive to spam them on wiki pages, there is no problem with commercial sites that are useful references. Many major newspaper websites contain heavy advertisement, but they are nonetheless good references. In the end, the best criteria to consider is the content and relevancy.

I have not spammed. The links added are relevant.

Right then since you cannot come back to me with anything proving your point and that I am incorrecct then I will take it that you agree with me.

Thanks for removing the bad link from South Africa national rugby union team-gadfium 17:48, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
