For this reason, a message intended for one person may be received by another. If you are editing from this address and are frustrated by irrelevant messages, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. If you are autoblocked repeatedly, we encourage you to contact your Internet service provider or IT department and ask them to contact Wikimedia's XFF project about enabling X-Forwarded-For HTTP headers on their proxy servers so that our editing blocks will affect only the intended user.

Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking - if a block is needed, administrators should consider using a soft block with the template {{anonblock|optional comment}} as the block reason.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Celebracadabra, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Pinkadelica 08:03, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you didn't make the edit, consider creating an account for yourself so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

The recent edit you made to Melungeon constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted; please do not continue to remove content. Thanks. —Elipongo (Talk contribs) 09:59, 28 April 2008 (UTC))

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Melugeon article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the "Village pump". You can also leave a message on my talk page. delldot talk 10:06, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Hey, I just wanted to clarify: Certainly no disrespect intendeded to you or anyone. We're very glad to have your contributions, it just has to be in your own words, not copied from anywhere. Don't hesitate to leave me a message on my talk page if you have any questions or need anything, I'm always glad to help. Peace, delldot talk 10:10, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for the note! I'm certainly sorry to hear about all the hardship you have gone through. All you need to do to be allowed to use content from the site on Wikipedia would be to change the copyright information on the website itself releasing the content under a free license (such as the GFDL). Otherwise we cannot use that exact content. You could also email wikimedia with permission to use the content, I can help you do either of these things. Otherwise, I'm sorry, but we can't use that exact material, you'll have to reword it in your own words. It's a very hard and fast rule of wikipedia - no copyrighted content. Sorry, I have to go now, but I'll be glad to help with whatever you need when you get back. Peace, delldot talk 10:18, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Your recent edit to Saponi (diff) was reverted by an automated bot. Please do not add email addresses/phone numbers, Imageshack/Photobucket/Flickr, or related links to non-talk pages if possible. You can restore any other content by editing the page and re-adding that content. The links can be reviewed and restored by established users. Thank you for contributing! // VoABot II (talk) 18:20, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Melungeon. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Aramgar (talk) 19:20, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Welcome

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might like to see:

You are welcome to continue editing articles without logging in, but you may wish to create an account. Doing so is free, requires no personal information, and provides several benefits. If you edit without a username, your IP address (24.30.38.213) is used to identify you instead.

In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your comments on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your IP address (or username if you're logged in) and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on this page. Again, welcome! Aramgar (talk) 18:48, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Melungeon ip editor: Please consult the talk page of the Melungeon article for an explanation of the changes made to your edits. Please follow this link: Talk:Melungeon#Collins_family_in_VA. Regards, Aramgar (talk) 18:57, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Legal threat

Hello, I noticed in this edit you are implying legal action against another user. Please read Wikipedia's policy on making legal threats. Are you willing to retract your threat? We can take a look at your concerns over the article, but threatening legal action is not allowed. Thanks. APK yada yada 19:19, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

You have not replied. I'm asking you again, are you going to retract your legal threat? An answer is necessary before you continue editing. Also, I've once again removed the external link you keep adding. Please read WP:EL again. The link is not appropriate for the article. APK yada yada 00:14, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Please do not add inappropriate external links, as you did with this edit to Catawba (tribe). If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Thingg 19:19, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Melungeon

It's inappropriate for you to threaten me or to accuse me of racism or assume anything by my other work. Please see the Melungeon Talk/Discussion page (behind the article). Other editors also reverted your addition on the Collins and Saponi heritage because it did not satisfy reliable third-party sources. You can take up with them whether this is appropriate and how best to use the sources. I have not dealt with all the edits on the page, so cannot comment on other material that may have been added by Jack Goins. It would be more appropriate for you to add to the section below in the article, in which Everett's theory about links to Saponi Indians is discussed (and discarded because Everett found that John Collins was not Indian.) I do not have a personal stake in this.--Parkwells (talk) 19:36, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button Image:Signature_icon.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 11:12, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Spam links

Hello, IP Collins descendant -- I'm sorry, but the links you provided do fall under our definition of links to be avoided: please see Wikipedia:EL#Links_normally_to_be_avoided, especially point 10. I understand your frustration -- Wikipedia rules and policies can seem difficult and even incomprehensible at first. Might I suggest registering for an account and signing up for a mentor? There is surely a way to incorporate your information according to policy, if you are willing to work with other editors. :) My friend Aramgar is of Collins descent too, through the Magoffin County line -- perhaps not close kin, but still kin.
