I have enough information to post the link. The link clearly states how brahmins in general and deshasthas migrated to maharashtra. Hope you stop criticizing and accept the truth and facts. Thank you —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.167.35.179 (talk) 18:41, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
It mentions brahmins and deshasth brahmins are from punjab, gandhar and surrounding areas. And it is a well known fact, if you were a deshastha you would know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.167.35.179 (talk) 18:47, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Well then, do you have better citations? You seem to be very proud of citing 'great' links... All brahmins mostly came from Indo gangetic plains and Punjab region. That is proven genetically. I do not know who conducted the study and when. And since it is explicitly stated that all brahmins are from Punjab, Pakistan region, we must atleast write punjab i think. It shouldn't be like we do not have an origin. And it is not like we have been in maharashtra since the beginning of history. So, till you find a better link to cite I shall add that link again. 122.167.34.6 (talk) 19:02, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Hey... My grand father was a historian... C Hayavadan Rao and he has statedin his books that deshastha brahmins are from Punjab... And before that they were from Uttarapatha. And I see that you have been vandalizing this page. So stop it. Jcavale (talk) 19:26, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
The link does'nt seem convincing. The article I mean. I think we should depend on academic sources.
