Hi. I would just like to ask you some things. You claim that Mariah Carey is not a coloratura because she uses whistle register which is 'easier to use' than head register. Where on earth did you hear that whistle register is an easy register to control? Thats the hardest voice register to train, thats why 99% of singers dont use it.

Secondy, Carey reaches G#7 in whistle register. Are you saying that if she was a real coloratura she would access that note in full voice? Can someone (even the most rigorously trained classical coloratura) access G#7 in full voice? No they cannot. The highest that comeone can reach in full voice is the lowest notes of the 6th octave, maybe C6 or D6. Carey hits those notes in full voice. She oly uses whistle register to access notes that singers are incapable of accessing with their full voice.

PS: Careys whistle notes are not thin or weak. It takes great vocal training and technicality to do what she does. If they were so easy to hit, everyone would be hitting them.

I appreciate your opinion of her voice, but writing it like that in the introduction of the article does not look proper and might be taken as vandalism, ok? Please discuss your opinions on Carey's talk page. Thank you
