[edit] World War II - Nagasaki

1/2 was part of the occupation force in Nagasaki after the surrender of Japan in World War II. Previously, Nagasaki was linked — which is a disambiguation page - listing both Nagasaki Prefecture and Nagasaki, Nagasaki. From easily accessible documentation, it seems more likely that the prefecture would be the best link. From Hiroshima and Nagasaki Occupation Forces. DTRA Fact Sheets. DTRA, U.S. Department of Defense (August 2005). Retrieved on 2008-02-24.:

"The term “occupation of Hiroshima or Nagasaki, Japan, by United States forces” means official military duties within 10 miles of the city limits of either Hiroshima or Nagasaki, Japan, which were required to perform or support military occupation functions such as occupation of territory, control of the population, stabilization of the government, demilitarization of the Japanese military, rehabilitation of the infrastructure or deactivation and conversion of war plants or materials."

Does anyone have any reference to indicate that 1/2 was limited to the city proper? Otherwise, it seems that prefecture is correct. Even if they were limited solely to the city, the prefecture is still correct. — ERcheck (talk) 14:28, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
