Image:1992 Rapture.jpg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This photograph was taken in 2002 by Aaron Sherman (uploader) in Kendall Sq., Cambridge, Massachusetts. It shows a poster that is made from a latex-like material (which is why it lasted for 10 years), and is representative of a large number of such posters that were attached to lamp posts and other visible areas along roads throughout New England in 1992.

Sadly, I don't have the original photo any longer. This version has had some vandalism removed (e.g. red X across the word Rapture) and some minor cracks edited out, but is otherwise intact. All text and graphics of the original have been left as they were.

The copyright owner was never attributed on the posters, but it is assumed to be owned by its creator. This photograph is uploaded here under the provisions of fair use, with no other options being available at this time, and in order to illustrate a noteworthy event in New England history. Further fair use rationale will be left on the article pages on which the image is used.

The following template is the closest that Wikipedia comes to appropriate. While this is not a promotional poster for a particular event, it falls into that general category.

Others have photographed these posters. Here's another photo of one on flickr:
