The 1987 Rose Bowl was a college football bowl game played on January 1, 1987. It was the 73rd Rose Bowl Game. The Arizona State Sun Devils defeated the Michigan Wolverines 22-15. Arizona State quarterback Jeff Van Rapphorst was named the Rose Bowl Player Of The Game.[1] This was the first appearance for the Arizona State Sun Devils football team in the Rose Bowl.
