[edit] Drivers Championship

Points were awarded 9-6-4-3-2-1 based on the top six race positions, a copy of the system then in use in Formula One. The pointscore system allowed a driver to drop his worst result. Only one driver finished all five rounds in a point scoring position, but it did make the difference as to who was crowned champion.
