Most of my rock and metal CDs come out with bitrates in the range of 750 - 1100kbit/s (I use compression level 8). In fact my most recent rip had a lowest bitrate of 996kbit/s and a highest of 1080kbit/s. While I understand that for electronic, ambient and rap music FLAC may be able to compress more since the audio is less complex it would be a lie to say that it encodes *most* audio CDs to 800 or less kbit/s. How about we leave it at 1000kbit/s?
