Ōgata (大潟村; -mura) is a village located in Minamiakita District, Akita, Japan.
As of 2008, the village has an estimated population of 3,161 and a density of 18.6 persons per km². The total area is 170.05 km².
This village is made up entirely of reclaimed land. The area was originally Hachirogata Lake.
It is world wide famous for Solarcar rallye and Eco car races.
