Yves Bélanger

Yves Bélanger (born September 30, 1952 in Baie-Comeau, Quebec) is a former National Hockey League goaltender.
After spending 5 years in minor league hockey, Belanger cracked into the NHL in late 1975, starting 11 games for the St. Louis Blues after a productive minor league season, in which he won the Terry Sawchuck Award as the best goalie in the Central Hockey League. He earned the Blues starting goal position for the 1975–76 NHL season, but was demoted to a backup role after a poor start. Belanger spend most of 1976 through 1978 in the minors.
During the 1978–1979 and 1979–1980 seasons, Belagner was a member of the minor league affiliate of the Atlanta Flames. He was called up and started games for the parent club several times but never factored into long term plans. Belanger spend the next season in the minor league affiliate of the Boston Bruins. He was called up for several games, but afterward would return to the minors, where he would spend the next five years, before retirement.
