Talk:Yves Arman
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] voila la 1st page
I am sure that someone else out there must know a lot more about Yves Arman. I know that he wrote many articles in publications like museum and gallery catalogs, but I don't have them to cite. I got all the information in this initial article from Keith Haring's official bioraphy and journals. If anyone would like to advise whether I need to quote/cite anything, that would be great. Also, I am sure there must be better things in general to talk about than how the dude died, but that's whats basically covered in the Haring books.
Also, because Yves' father is named Arman and is more famous, I didn't really know what to call him in the article. Simply calling him 'Arman' is pretty confusing; repeating 'Yves Arman' is weird; etc.
I don't know if he was born in France or in America like his father. I don't know what year he was born. The Keith Haring biography mentions that he lived at least part of his life in the south of France.
Also, I don't know if this is the same Yves Arman mentioned at Eliane Radigue.

[edit] minor changes
Came back to the article and was very pleased to see it had grown. I did some minor grammatical cleanup in the 1st paragraph. The 2nd paragraph had a confusing section: 'Yves's motto was "In art we trust", "L'art c'est la vie".' 'L'art c'est la vie' translates as 'Art is life,' not 'In art we trust.' I separated the 2 expressions because I was uncertain about their relationship to one another. Mathtinder 20:11, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
