Yuba City Charter School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Yuba City Charter School is a K-12 public school located in Yuba City, CA. Students wear uniforms and there is a point-level hierarchy system. Students are also issued "point sheets," in which they are marked off points for petty misbehavior. Currently, the school is a set of trailers in a church parking lot.

[edit] Private school or Charter school?

The Yuba City Charter School was going to be private at one point; however due to insufficient funds, it was not. As quoted from the principal, Paul Tice, "we simply do not have the funds for such an extravagant leap at our current primitive state of educating. We are private people running a very private school; however, one should not consider us a private school. It's a good deal left and right for us to be a charter school, however we value privacy above promixity." In a recent interview with the Appeal Democrat, the school was questioned whether or not it was accredited. Tice responds, "Accredited? You got it! (laughs)."[citation needed]
