[edit] = Fair use rationale

It is believed that this scanned badge is needed to illustrate a historic non-repeatable event (one of the first IYPTs). It is used in the article Young Physicists' Tournament in Russia.

The use of a low resolution version of this badge constitutes fair use in the Wikipedia article History of Young Physicists' Tournament in Russia because:

  • The low resolution nature of the image prevents reuse which could infringe on the benefits of the copyright owner;
  • The image and the event it represents are critically discussed by the article;
  • YPT-related organizations have willingly published such images to represent their competitions.

[edit] Summary

The metal badge that was delivered to the participants of the Young Physicists' Tournament (Moscow, Soviet Union) in 1989. This sample was kindly scanned by Eugene Zelenko (Jaŭhen Zialonka in Belarusian Latin alphabet) who represented Minsk at this competition. The copyright owner is seemingly the YPT Organizing Committee or the Komsomol which had largely supported the event. In 1989 the finals of the Soviet YPT were combined with the 2nd IYPT and took place on March 24 - April 2, 1989.
