The Young Kennel Club (or YKC) is the branch of the Kennel Club UK dedicated to people aged 6-25. It holds many events throughout the UK, such as training weekends, a National Training Camp and Outward Bound courses for the more senior members.
The main canine activities that the YKC is concerned with are Agility, Obedience, Showing, Handling, Heelwork to Music, Flyball, Grooming and Gundog Tests. In most of these events members are given the opportunity to qualify for YKC competitions at Crufts.
The YKC holds an annual Young Kennel Club Training Camp at a predetermined site around the UK and is for around 100 aspiring young handlers to lead all disciplines
