Yevgeny Pepelyaev

Colonel Yevgeny Georgievich Pepelyaev (born 18 March 1918 in Bodaybo, Irkutsk, Eastern Siberia) is a Russian fighter pilot of the Korean war.
He was the commander of the 196th Fighter Air Regiment. In his MiG-15, Yevgeny Pepelyaev shot down 16 F-86 Sabres, 2 F-94 Starfires, F-84 Thunderjets, P-80 Shooting Stars,
Pepelyaev's Korean War record was:
- combat missions
- aerial engagements
- enemy aircraft shot down
Pepelyaev was awarded the Order of Lenin twice, three Orders of the Red Banner, Order of the Patriotic War 1st & 2d Class and two Orders of Red Star.
