Category talk:Years in music

I just noticed that I was re-removing Category:Years in music from the year in music articles that have their own categories (eg, 1990 in music and Category:1990 in music). I am doing this in accordance with Wikipedia:Categorization#General naming conventions, specifically:

Articles should be placed in the most specific categories possible.

Since the X in music categories are direct subcategories of the Years in music category, putting the main X in music articles into those subcategories is IMO the best approach. I'll let this comment sit here for a while before I resume re-removing the overly general categories, to see what objections there might be. Bryan 04:17, 26 Dec 2004 (UTC)
