Yasmine White

Yasmine White (born July 15, 1989 in Arcata, CA) is an American triathlete who competes at the Junior Elite level.

White participated in club swimming from age 12 and was a standout runner at Arcata High School (Arcata, CA class of 2006).

[edit] US National Titles

White has won a number of national titles beginning with an Ironkids Triathlon National Title in 2003. As a youth triathlete white met more success by claiming the Youth Elite Title in 2003 and successfully defending it in 2004. Upon moving to the junior ranks white logged a runner-up finish at the 2005 Junior National Championships and claimed the title in 2006.

White's international debut took place at the 2004 Pan American Junior Championships in Edmonton, Canada where she defeated Ofelia Arriaga of Guatemala to win the 14-15 age group. Since then White has represented the United States at two ITU Triathlon Junior World Championships where she finished 44th (Gamagori, Japan, 2005) and 39th (Lausanne, Switzerland, 2006). White has also competed in two ITU Duathlon Junior World Championships which included a 4th place finish in 2006.

White was named the USA Triathlon Junior Triathlete of the Year in 2006 after receiving an Honorable Mention in 2005. White was also named the USA Triathlon Junior Duathlete of the year in 2005 and 2006.

White has been a member of the USA Triathlon Junior National Team Member for the duration of her junior career (2005-2007). She was also a memver of the Buffalo Chips Running Club which won two USATF Cross Country Junior Women's Team titles in New York, New York (2006) and Boulder, Colorado (2007). Beginning in fall 2007, White will represent the Bowdoin College Polar Bears. Go U Bears!
