Yashavant Kanetkar is a famous Indian author, known for his books on programming languages.

He has authored several books on topics such as C language, C++, VC++, C#, .NET, DirectX and COM programming. He is also a popular speaker on various technology subjects and is a regular columnist for publications Express Computers and Developer 2.0. His best-selling books include Let Us C, Understanding Pointers In C and Test Your C Skills. But these books are very specific to the ancient Turbo C compilers, and do not contain reliable information on standard C language.

He obtained his BE from VJTI, Mumbai and M.Tech. from IIT Kanpur. He has good experience as application and system software developer. His current affiliations include being CEO of KICIT, a training company and DCube Software Technologies, a software development company.
