The writing style of much of the text is a bit odd... somewhat colloquial, quaint, and definitely from the pre-political-correctness era. Was it "lifted" from some dusty old book on the history of Yarmouth? If so, it should probably be cited... and probably rephrased further to make it more modern and encyclopedic sounding.
