Yang Qiu was a warlord who joined Ma Chao's rebellion against Cao Cao during the Three Kingdoms period of China. Upon the coalition's defeat in the Battle of Tong Pass, he fled to Anding (安定) but was forced to surrender to Cao Cao the next winter and was awarded a post as a marquis.
In the historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, he was known as one of the eight knights under Han Sui. Yang Qiu was the one that sent an emissary of peace to Cao Cao through Ma Chao's persuasion. However, when Ma Chao and Han Sui began to feud amongst themselves, Yang Qiu decided to join Cao Cao.
