The Yamazaki (山崎?) are descendants of a samurai clan from Kawagoe in the Kantō region. The Yamazaki line dates from the 1700's, and their land was awarded by Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo Period.
[edit] Descendants
The Yamazaki family is headed today by the ninth family leader, Akira Yamazaki. Naka, the daughter of the fourth honke was a friend of Tsuru Glover and wife of John Wilson, and the story of her life and marriage is likely contributory to the story Madama Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini.
