The Yaesu VX-150R is a 2 meter amateur radio hand-held capable of transmitting from 144.000 - 147.995 MHz and receiving from 138.000 - 174.000 MHz. Its maximum output is 5 watts, making it one of the more powerful handheld radios. It has a backlit keypad and a 7 digit backlit alphanumeric display. The VX-150R is easily modifiable for extended transmit and receive in the VHF spectrum from about 125.000 - 180.000 MHz by the removal of a single diode.
