Talk:Yacyretá Dam

[edit] Spelling
The correct spelling is Yacyretá (even though it is not correctly spelled by guaraní ortography rules). Should this article be renamed to correct this situation?

[edit] Full power
The information at the end of the article is not correct. The dam is *not* working at full capacity, and the mentioned 7m increase of water level is part of the original design. Only when that additional raise in water level is completed will the dam be working at full capacity. The current water height is 76m over the sea level, and the planned level was 83m. It is important to mention that those seemingly inocuous 7m would increase the power produced by 66%, going from 12gwh a year to around 20. Therefore the statement that the dam is working at full capacity since 1998 should be corrected.

- It's all over the Internet: http://energia3.mecon.gov.ar/contenidos/verpagina.php?idpagina=581 --- GomoX (e-mail above)
- The error was considering capacity with total numbers of generators. --Mariano(t/c) 19:22, 20 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Ranking
Accordingly to this other source, it is only the 12th largest, not the second largest http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_largest_hydoelectric_power_stations —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.136.97.87 (talk) 01:39, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
