[edit] Arguments against deletion

I created this because, in my view, the Yachts were of sufficient note to merit a brief article. They seem to meet several WP:MUSIC criteria - they had two albums released internationally on a major indie label, they had members who went on to more famous bands (notably The Christians), and they were (albeit quite briefly) leading lights of both the Liverpool music scene in the late 1970s and the wider process of musical transition from punk to post-punk and new wave. I accept that there is currently little on the web about the band and - if you allow me time - I will try and identify further sources to address the verifiability issue. But deletion is not justified in this case. Ghmyrtle 22:31, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

  • I am flabbergasted that this page was ever considered for deletion. The arguments outlined above are spot on. I hope others will join me, and other members of 'Wikiproject New Wave music', to help improve this page further. Thanks to Ghmyrtle for his perseverance. [edit] Official name of the band

I have all of this group's vinyl records except one, and not one of them has the name "The Yachts" on either the label or the sleeve. They are always called just "Yachts". Like "Buzzcocks" or "Talking Heads". --76.19.242.242 07:28, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

I think this comment is correct, so I have moved the page to Yachts (band). Ghmyrtle 08:41, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
