I have tagged the page with the in-universe tag since after the first paragraph it takes and sticks to a fully in-universe tone. Such expressions as "The Y-Wing has become one of the mainstays of the Rebel Alliance" or "Fortunately, the Y-Wing can be easily modified" are not really appropriate in an encyclopedia article. Especially one where the primary interest should be on the Y-Wing's use and occurence in the real world (I.e. Star Wars media, toys, etc.) rather than its fictional history and use. [edit] Exosquad

I would like to put a disambiguation page, as there is a vehicle in the Exosquad universe operated by the Neosapiens that is also referred to as a Y-wing. Any objections? --CloutierFan02 10:22, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:YWing.jpg

Image:YWing.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Unsourced but interesting statement

I'm excising this unsourced statement from the article, but a source would be great to have:

Many space combat simulators exacerbate [the ship's slow speed and low maneuverability] by designing the ship's hitbox as a pentagaonal prism (which is easier on the game engine), giving the vessel a substantially larger target area than would actually be the case.

Any help? --EEMeltonIV 13:38, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

I think I heard something like that before. Another interesting statement is whether the bubble pod initially on the Y-Wing was used on those attack ships in the Clone Wars. — Deckiller 14:05, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
Well, it's not mentioned here. Perhaps in one of those other types of sources out there -- I think they're called "boox"? ;-) --EEMeltonIV 14:13, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
