[edit] Image tagging
Please be sure to tag images you upload or they may be deleted. (See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags). Also, be sure to link the image to an article. Wikipedia is not a photo repository and orphan photos are usually deleted. Thanks Nv8200p 18:55, 8 August 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Hello
Hello, Xy1990! It's probably not a good idea to post your password on the help desk. We don't need to access your account in order to answer your question (which I'll do in a minute...). I've removed the password, and I highly recommend you changing your password by clicking on "preferences". Also, you can sign your posts by typing in "~~~~" , without the quotes. This automatically signs your user name. You can also customize your signature, like I did with mine, by going to preferences. Hope this helps you out! Happy editing. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Otsego Construction.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Otsego Construction.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 21:44, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] My picture titled Construction in Otsego.jpg
I, xy1990, need someone to put a copyright tag on this image. It's mine and I would like it released into the public domain. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Xy1990 (talk • contribs) 21:50, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
- I moved the question here since the template talk page was the wrong place for it.
- If the picture is yours, you should tag it yourself. You can do that by navigating to the image page and clicking the edit link, or use this shortcut. This edits the text describing the image, not the image itself. Type or copy-and-paste this: {{PD-user|Xy1990}}. Also add a note that you took the picture yourself, perhaps with the date, since we do want to know where a picture came from by some means other than the tag. Once you've done that, remove {{di-no license}}, click "Save page", and you're done. TCC (talk) (contribs) 22:10, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Otsego_Construction.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Otsego_Construction.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:33, 19 December 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mangostar (talk) 21:33, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
