Xu Shousheng

Xu Shousheng (Chinese: 徐守盛; Pinyin: Xú Shǒushèng; born 1953) is a Chinese politician. Xu has served as the Governor of Gansu since January 2007. [1]

Xu was born in China's Jiangsu Province in 1953.[1] He joined the Communist Party of China, a prequisite for political office, in October 1973.[1] He was transferred from Jiangsu to Gansu in 2001 when he was appointed to head the Communist Party of China's Gansu Provincial Committee organization department.[1]
Xu Shousheng was first appointed as Governor of Gansu in January 2007.[1] He was re-elected by the Gansu Provincial People's Congress on January 26, 2008.[1]
As Governor of Gansu, Xu is responsible for the personnel, environmental, economic, political and foreign affairs of the province.[1] The Governorship ranks second in the province behind the Communist Party of China Provincial Committee Secretary.[1]
