[edit] Celeblitz

CeleblitZ, a celebrity performance, was the grand finale to Xpressions 2007. In the past this event had been graced by internationally acclaimed celebrities like Jagjit Singh and rock bands such as Euphoria and Indian Ocean. CeleblitZ is a much awaited event in Orissa and attracts a diverse audience comprising of students from various B-Schools, undergraduate colleges as well as people from in and around Bhubaneswar.

In Xpressions '07, CeleblitZ witnessed the LIVE performance of the famous Pakistani Band JAL.[9]

[edit] Decibelz

Decibelz is a celebration of the spirit of hard rock that abides in the young hearts of all B-school grads. It is a beacon for all upcoming rock bands, and is a forum where soulful music meets rebellion of the mind and hence nothing but genius flows. It defies all the logic that says that amateur bands cannot give a level of entertainment that can match those given by professionals. Decibelz, the first rock competition in these parts of the country has been declared by many to be one of the most important events of Xpressions.

Several rock bands including the popular local band Raagaz had performed in this event in Xpressions '07.

[edit] Bandwidth

It is yet another celebrity music performance, some of the past performers have been Band of Boys[10], Pentagram[11][12], Cassini's Division.[13]

[edit] Carnivale de Vogue

This is one of the most sought after events in the form of a mind-boggling fashion show, where participants walk the ramp amidst lots of colours, special effects and cheers.[14]

[edit] JLTs

JLT is an acronym for "Just Like That", the verved up dance parties of XIMB. Elevating music, disco lights and low alcohol punches keep the participants captivated to the floor. Parties begin post midnight and run into the wee hours of morning, with the crowd just asking for more. Swing in to the rhythm or swing out to a beer, people let their hair down.

[edit] Corporate Events

[edit] Conclave

Conclave, the panel discussion, is the inaugural event of Xpressions and is known to bring together trend-setting faces from the Indian business world. The theme for the year 2007 was "Merge and Grow or Grow and Merge". Conclave promises to offer insights into one of the most recent and pertinent phenomenon of the business world of today. Distinguished minds from across the realms of the business community would come and share their thoughts on the topic, and what would emerge henceforth will be a magnificent rainbow of ideas to smile on the horizons of Xpressions.

Some of the eminent panelists in the past have been Praful Patel, Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Government of India, Naveen Jindal, Jindal Group, Sachin Pilot, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) - India, Mahesh Murthy, Entrepreneur & Venture Capitalist, Deepak Bagla, Director - Citigroup, V K Timothia, Non-Executive Director on the board of Vedanta, V S Jain, MD, Jindal Stainless,[15] Krishna Angara, Director of Operations, Vodafone, Rajeev Dubey, Editor, Business World among others.[16]

[edit] Home Coming

Homecoming is an event conducted by XIMB for its alumnus. An invitation to the alumnus to take a trip down the memory lane to those golden years that lost somewhere in the hustle bustle of everyday life. It is an opportunity for the alumnus to relive those magical moments on campus – to relive those long nights spent chatting outside the night mess, to meet those buddies who shared those days of fun and those nights of work, to relive those 'eventful' midnight birthday parties, to relive the JLTs and the block parties, and to sing the block anthem one more time to bring all those old memories rushing back.

[edit] Bon Appétit

The opening event of Xpressions-CONCLAVE, is followed by a Corp Dinner. The Corporate speakers and guests, the faculty and students are invited to a formal dinner. Apart from the sumptuous appetizers, there are ideas aplenty to satiate everyone….except the curious students.

This is a unique opportunity for the students to talk to the corporate bigwigs who come as speakers and guests for conclave on a one-to-one level. The students can widen their knowledge about the latest goings-on in the corporate world by talking to the movers and shakers of the Industry. Students invariably have found the interaction with Corporate honchos an enriching experience, because talking to experienced people who have a current perspective about the Industry provides them with invaluable inputs which mere books can never give!

The Corporate speakers and guests also look forward to this experience of interacting with the student fraternity because it allows them to revisit theoretical concepts and get a fresh perspective on mundane business processes and usual business problems.
