[edit] Images in 1973

Xochristian710, I deleted the two additional ones because they will not under any circumstances meet the requirements of our image checkers. You've already got one notice about one of them, as above. The promo picture from the video is the property of Atlantic Music, and they are not going to release it under the licenses required on Wikipedia - but if you want to try and get them to do that, then you must have their written permission for free use. Perhaps you might want to talk to some of the people who specialise in images to find out what you need to do here to get them accepted, but as it stands there is no justification for these photos in the article. An image of a demo? Come on - the only one that matters is the single itself. Risker 15:25, 5 August 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a promotional tool. It is intended to be an encyclopedia that covers a wider range of articles than its traditional paperbound counterparts. Copyright is taken very seriously here, particularly when it comes to images. The rules for images are very complex, which is why I make it a practice not to add them. However, it is clear that you do not own the copyright to the image from the video - Frank Micelotta and/or Getty Images does. Only they can grant permission for its use here, and the permission has to meet the criteria for free use. The same goes for the photo of the promo - that artwork belongs to Warner Music Group, and unless the article is specifically about the promo (and it is not just mentioned in passing), then there is no fair use justification for it. I believe you also added the image for the single itself. I will add the additionally required information about it so that it will not be routinely deleted, as I quite agree it is important to the article. Some discussion of the artwork for the single will need to be added to the article as well, so that the use of the image can be justified in the article.
There's nothing special about the 1973 promo; it is not commercially available and is not a "true" release, in the same sense that the other three single releases are. Every single ever released has a promo; they are not in themselves notable.
As an aside, it is considered "best practices" to sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~); I knew who you were because of the subject matter and the fact you were posting on my talk page, but it's a bit more important to differentiate between editors on article talk pages and so on. Welcome aboard, I think I made your first 24 hours a bit rough because of being around here for a while and not realising you were new to the editing business - sorry about that. [edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:1973 promo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:1973 promo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 16:34, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
