[edit] Your User Page/Sandbox

Here's a friendly little suggestion: I noticed that your user page is being utilized as a sandbox. Why don't you create your own sandbox in your userspace?-MBK004 22:54, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Cool, thanks. XIDE 23:02, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Significant digits

I appreciate your effort to introduce uniformity to the metric units to Gold mining in the United States, but in converting uniformly to a tenth of a metric tonne you have inadvertently introduced errors to the article. The figures in troy ounces are given rounded off to two or three significant digits, yet your corresponding metric conversions are commonly given to four or five significant figures. Historic gold production data in particular is often a very rough estimate, and it would be misleading to state the production in tonnes as if it were known to three or four significant figures. Please do not exaggerate the precision of the data. Thanks.Plazak 02:37, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bridgestone

Hi XIDE. I notice that you reverted my change to Bridgestone. I won't change it back, but did you understand why I reverted your change in the first place? The particular part of WP:ENGVAR I was referring to is:

Retaining the existing variety
If an article has evolved using predominantly one variety, the whole article should conform to that variety, unless there are reasons for changing it on the basis of strong national ties to the topic.

I don't think Bridgestone has "strong national ties" to the US; on that basis I believe it should retain the UK spelling of "tyre", which is the spelling with which the article evolved. But as I said, I'm not planning to change it back. DH85868993 (talk) 22:34, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
