Card fan?
Me too! But what was up with Empire? It's the only one of his books I actually failed to make it through. Also, what are your thougts on this comic?? delldot on a public computer talk 23:22, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- I'll have to admit, I've not (yet) ventured outside the Enderverse. Funny comic. It's been so long, I can't remember which one is my favorite after the original. Probably Speaker. cheers =) xenocidic ( talk ¿ review ) 23:27, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- Go for The Worthing Saga on your next venture out of the Enderverse! It's my favorite :) Peace, delldot on a public computer talk 00:44, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
- As a fellow Card fan, I'm curious as to your thoughts about the potential for my username to be divisive, either in the context of it being a derivative of the word xenocide, or in the context of it being derived from a word coined by someone with such controversial personal views. By the way, I haven't picked up The Worthing Saga yet, but it's on my list. As to why Empire is so different than his other work - probably because it's based on a an upcoming video game, thus wasn't entirely his own creation. xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 03:44, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

StatusBot
[1] The son of a bitch Bot is trying to piss me off again. :-/ I put the autocat=no thing in the template, but he still won't stop. Could you take a look at it for me? You're the status template whiz after all.--Koji†Dude (C) 01:08, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- yar gotta do it in both places ;>. xenocidic (talk) 01:33, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Child
You have obviously discovered that I am young. I use my real name everywhere, but yes, i'll stop. StewieGriffin! • Talk 14:50, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you. It's not just the fact that you are young, using one's real name on the internet is unwise for a number of reasons. Looking forward to hearing more Radio WP episodes, xenocidic (talk) 14:54, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah. Have you subscribed? StewieGriffin! • Talk 14:56, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Radio Wikipedia
This is my radio show, however, I am looking for 10 second sound files, commenting on Wikipedia. If you could get me one done in the next 10 mins (little time, i know!), I can have it in today's broadcast. StewieGriffin! • Talk 15:04, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- I've got a short clip (ad for WP VG) but still trying to encode it to .ogg. Might not have it in for your press deadline =). xenocidic (talk) 15:20, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter what format. It could even be a video on youtube. Anything, but quick. I want to broadcast ASAP. StewieGriffin! • Talk 15:21, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Here you go Image:RADWPVGAD.ogg. Thanks! xenocidic (talk) 15:32, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

There you go... It's got your comment in.
- Great show, might I suggest starting to report how many new articles since the last broadcast, rather than how many articles? (i.e. "Since last broadcast, over 7500 new articles have been added to Wikipedia's nearly 2.4 million articles.) xenocidic (talk) 16:06, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Extended Show
I am thinking of an extended show. Would you be interested in a minute slot to talk about Wikipedia (not news; as that's my job)? StewieGriffin! • Talk 16:09, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hrm, if I can figure out what to talk about, I'll try to have something to you by the end of day, but I might not come up with anything particularly interesting. =) xenocidic (talk) 16:10, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Talk about a WikiProject, news on other projects and languages etc... I don't need anything until 5PM tomorrow. StewieGriffin! • Talk 16:14, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- What about if I gave an analysis of the FritzpollBot discusion/debate? P.S. It might be a good idea if you refactored everything from your talk page about Radio Wikipedia over to WT:RADWP, or at the very least start discussing it there, for centralization purposes. xenocidic (talk) 16:18, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah. I don't like the idea. If you prepare a maximum of 1 minute discussion by 5PM, it'll get in tomorrow's show. StewieGriffin! • Talk 16:34, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- I mean about FritzpollBot, not the idea of you broadcasting on my radio show. StewieGriffin! • Talk 17:03, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Userbox alignment
Copied from my talk page for reference: (Re: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Mets501&curid=3957872&diff=216504948&oldid=216283261) That one you were asking Mets about is taller than the rest, is this any better? You could consider tweaking the userbox heights directly, but this may affect other users. If you display userboxen in a vertical format, perhaps utilizing {{userboxtop}}/{{userboxbottom}}, then the height will not be an issue. xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 23:28, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, that's much better. Thanks!! I still have one alignment issue (a seemingly empty row for no apparent reason, right in the middle of my Politics/Hobbies section); would you mind taking a look at it (at your convenience, of course) to see what I need to do? I'm just now working out how to do this sort of thing and it's all a learning experience. I'd really, really appreciate the help. -- edi (talk) 23:39, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not seeing any empty rows there in either Firefox or IE. Yes the met-the-moonwalker is on it's own row, bu that's about it. What browser are you using? xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 23:44, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- I'm in IE6, but I've been thinking about it and I think it may actually be another vertical alignment thing. {{User:Bluedenim/Centrism}} was displaying much like the West Virginia one that you fixed with "valign". I fixed the Centrism one myself the same way, and that's when the dead space showed up immediately below it, and I also notice now that there's a little extra space below the WV one. So I'm guessing the valign has very likely created the other problem. The question is: Is it fixable? -- edi (talk) 23:56, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- Any better now? I added valign to every row of that table. Unfortunately, it can't span across the entire table for some reason. The problem didn't manifest in IE7, so you might consider upgrading your browser, or switching to a much better one ;>. xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 23:59, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
- It's still the same, but it's cool, no big deal. I really appreciate the work you've put into it; I couldn't have asked for a nicer, more helpful response. I also appreciate the nudge toward Firefox. :) I agree, actually; I've just been too lazy to bother. Soon, maybe. In the meantime, thanks again for all your help. You rock. -- edi (talk) 00:13, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

← No problem =) I used to be a fairly staunch advocate of not using Firefox either, but once you get used to it, it's really hard to go back to IE. P.S. I think I found the problem, you had an extraneous row statement here. Better now? xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 00:16, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Just so you know... I downloaded Firefox out of curiosity and you're right; it looks great there. No telling what the root of the problem is in IE, but I'm not going to worry about it. Thanks again. :) -- edi (talk) 01:02, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

I dunno if I really deserve a barnstar just for trying to follow policies, but yes, it would have been easier to blow past that questionable bit without stopping, so thanks for recognizing my effort. Jclemens (talk) 03:38, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- ...which is probably what most users would have done. In cases like this, (imo) it's always best to seek a second opinion before brushing it off as simple vandalism. cheers, xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 03:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
XBL
Hey, my name on XBL is chrislk05. I should have added you last night. Yea, you can copy my userpage design. I however did not design it, it was designed by User:Phaedriel. I am sure she would not have a problem with that at all (she has been gone for quite some time now on an extended wiki break. I am sure much of the community hopes she returns). Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 13:41, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks Chris, just wanted to see if you were another person who added me right around when we had the initial convo. I'll drop a note on Phaedriel's page as well. xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 13:46, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Phaedriel has not edited in many many months so I would not expect a response. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 13:48, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- understandable, I just meant a friendly note thanking her and hoping she comes back one day. I've heard good things about her. xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 13:49, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- Thats a good idea. I am sure many of us hopes she comes back. I have never worked with another editor who had her ablities to diffuse explosive situations. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 13:52, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

MZMcBride thread
When it was being discussed in the IRC chan, the question was asked if it was at ANI and the answer was not yet. No one brought the existing thread to my attention and I've not been on ANI in a few, so I was not aware of its existence (the current thread, that is). I attempted to archive the thread I started, as there was already the ongoing thread regarding the block, that Pilotguy failed to mention he'd posted to, but I ECed four times, so I just let it go. :p Lara❤Love 03:07, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Gotcha. I'm not up to speed on this IRC stuff. Anyways, I think the new heading is useful anyways, but I moved it inline with the previous discussion per WP:BB. xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 03:10, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Status
Is the reason my staus is not working due to the shutdown of soxbot V ? Prom3th3an (talk) 13:43, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Qui/Statustop template
Thanks for the heads-up re SoxBot. I have installed Qui however I keep getting a spurious error We encountered an unknown status. Please blank your Special:MyPage:/Status page. which pops up every time I go to a new page even though User:Nancy/Status is empty. Any ideas? nancy (talk) 14:22, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hrm, I'm not quite sure. That status page should hold your status, I updated it back to "Online"... Problems regarding Qui should be directed to TheDJ, as I'm not sure how it works. Just the template. If you hover over the small icon in the top right you will see the updating stuff. What browser are you using? I think you need to use one of the supported browsers, that could be the problem. xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 15:13, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Still same error - thanks so much for trying though. There is somethingproperly wrong as I donlt even get the icon. You mentioned browsers and I am wondering if the fact that I am using a beta version of Firefox v3 might have something to do with it....... hmmmn, I'll be able to test that one from home this evening on V2. Thanks again. nancy (talk) 15:20, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Infobox
do you know how to change the color of an infobox, or do you know someone who can? Mr. GreenHit Me UpUserboxes 15:29, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- As far as I can see, there's no parameter to change the background colour. You could consider substing the infobox user into a subpage of your userpage and tweaking it directly (I showed you above how to change the background of a table, and the infobox uses tables), but I've also dropped a request for this paramater here. xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 15:33, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
RADWP: Urgent
I cannot record on Radio Wikipedia today. Could you do the 3 min show, if you have time, please? StewieGriffin! • Talk 16:00, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Unfortunately UTC-wise I won't be home until "tomorrow" so we might miss today. It may be a good idea to modify the shows format to "semi-weekly" or something along those lines. xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 16:03, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- OK, i'll put a note on the main page. StewieGriffin! • Talk 16:04, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

BTW. since you are so enthusiastic, if you have some design ideas about what would make Qui look better and more usable, I more than welcome them. --TheDJ (talk • contribs) 19:52, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- sure thing I will let you know if I think of anything. right now it looks pretty good to me... if the offline-on-window-close isn't possible, perhaps some way to "auto-online"-on-window open? xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 19:54, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
