Xanopticon is the stage name for Ryan Friedrich. He has released albums on Tiger Beat 6, Mirex, Zhark, Hymen, Mutant Sniper, and Thac0. His music is often strange and alienating, with a speed and complexity matching most IDM. However, its sentiment is closer to dark drum & bass. Due to his heaviness, he is often compared to Venetian Snares, who has an equal ability for manipulating small snippets of sound.
