XAnim is a proprietary media player for Unix originally developed by Mark Podlipec. It was one of the first media players available on Unix and had versions available for a large number of different systems.
XAnim featured support for Indeo, Cinepak, and many other video codecs, a few of which still aren't otherwise available for some Unix systems by any other means. MPlayer supports directly loading and using XAnim codecs.
