[edit] Your posting at Wikipedia talk:Citing sources
If you have a question about editing Wikipedia, the best place to ask is at the help desk, or on the talk page of the most revelant policy or guideline. In this case, Wikipedia's guideline on citing sources wasn't particularly relevant, so I removed your questions, which were:
- Can I put an article in Wikipedia in order to coin a frase or name for something using myself as a reference?
-
- No, see WP:NOR - Wikipedia isn't for original writing (things you're created).
- If not and I have to publish it somewhere else first, does that have to be a professional journal or a book or is a website or a newspaper sufficient?
-
- You have to cite a reliable source. A website is not; a peer-reviewed (professional journal) is. A self-published book is not; a non-fiction book published by a university press or large commercial publisher would be.
-
- Please note that WP:RS is not the only rule that is relevant to new articles; the subject of an article must be notable. In general, something mentioned just in one journal or book is not considered notable. -- John Broughton (♫♫) 23:18, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
{{helpme}}Reliable Sources and Newspapers
Is a notable newspaper sufficient or is a must to publish with a university press/ professional journal first? Thanks for the patience.
