WYSS is an American radio station, broadcasting at 99.5 FM in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The station broadcasts a contemporary hit radio format as Yes FM. The station launched as "Yes FM", with a CHR format, in 1985.
For a time, the station's format shifted toward hot adult contemporary and added more 1980s and 1990s gold tracks; the station still played Rhythmic Contemporary and Hip Hop titles, but only at night. However, the station has since shifted back toward mainstream CHR, although the playlist still has somewhat of an adult lean, particularly during weekdays.
The morning show is called the "Soo Morning Crew" and features Tim Ellis and Lissa (Melissa Krahnke). Jason Mapes and Paul VanWagoner (Junior) hold down afternoon drive and nights respectively. According to the latest Arbitron Ratings and BBM ratings, WYSS is the most listened to station in Chippewa County and Sault, Ontario.
WYSS also carries American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest, Rick Dees' Weekly Top 40, Romeo's Playhouse and Dance Party.
The station is owned by Northern Star Broadcasting.
