[edit] Plot
Nine years after the events in the first film, Wrong Turn 2 opens with eight strangers competing in a Survivor-like game show led by retired military commander Dale Murphy, who makes them give up all outside communication before starting. As they move into the forest, the surviving cannibal from the first movie attacks and kills one of the show's producers. He then knocks out and captures Dale.
The cannibals then butcher the remaining contestants. Mara, after catching her boyfriend cheating on her, goes with Nina to a cabin in search of a phone. There, they witness one of the cannibals giving birth, and are, in turn, spotted. The girls escape as "Ma" kicks down the door. Mara is hit in the head with an axe and killed as Nina escapes. As "Three-Fingers" tortures Dale, he uses a moment to his advantage, manages to escape, and shoots the mutant with a shotgun.
Two more contestants, Jonesy and Amber, find another contestant, Jake, at a barbecue pit. As they eat, a crazed Nina races up and tells her story. Jonesy then realizes it has been Kimberly's leg that they've been eating. As they run, Dale finds "The Old Man" (from the previous movie) in his cabin. Dale tells him about the cannibals and soon realizes the man is their un-mutated father. After a brief skirmish, Dale kills the old man.
Jonesy and Amber are soon after killed, while Jake and Nina are trapped. As they torture Nina and Jake at their dinner table, an enraged Dale enters their compound, kills several of them, and is then killed by a spool of barb wire that gets wrapped around his throat. Nina and Jake escape, killing what they believe are the last mutants by pushing them into an enormous grinder. Nina and Jake then find an abandoned sports car and drive away to safety.
As the film ends, the still alive "Three-Fingers" feeds the newborn mutant baby a human finger and a bottle. His laugh is heard over the end credits.

[edit] Reception and box office
Wrong Turn 2: Dead End received mostly positive reviews, gaining a 75% fresh rating from review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes based on 8 reviews [4].
Uncle Creepy of DreadCentral gave the film 8 out of 10 stars stating that the film "is a hot ticket for some gore-soaked backwoods mayhem that gets even better with repeated viewings and lots of booze". Bloody-Disgusting stated that "what could have been a cheap and lazy cash-in turned out to be one of the year’s better genre offerings".
