Why would this article be in the subjunctive?

It would be in the subjunctive because the effect of beautiful music would be to relax people, thereby removing any active impulses from them, which would have the secondary effect of making them write in the subjunctive. Wasted Time R 18:40, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
