Worried Life Blues
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Worried Life Blues" is a song that has become a blues standard originally recorded by Sleepy John Estes.
This song is notable for having various artists cover it. Most, if not all, versions use some variant of the chorus line: "Someday baby / You ain't gonna [sic] worry my life anymore." Performers who have renamed the title have used some of the lyrics to create songs such as...
- Fred's Worried Life Blues by Mississippi Fred McDowell. The earliest known recording of this version is on "Fred McDowell: Mississippi Delta Blues" from 1964.[1]
- Trouble No More by Muddy Waters.
- Electric Worry by Clutch from From Beale Street to Oblivion. The band have stated that inspiration for this song came from the McDowell version.[2]
- You Done Told Everybody by Pearlene from Murder Blues & Prayer.
- Someday Baby by Bob Dylan from Modern Times.
