[edit] Use of WMN

[edit] On Splinter Cell

WMN feature first was First News Wire on Splinter Cell where it helped to tell the story and the show effect of media on the world and government. In the Splinter Cell series, the news clips are integrated with cut scenes in between missions. The news clips are short but effective in continuing of the story of what happen and what effect did your mission do or what your next mission might be. When the new report finish it will cut off like switching the channel on your TV. Some time after that another news clip might be shown, a cut scene of Fisher or his people might be shown, or the mission will start. In Splinter Cell Double Agent, WNM is shown only once at the end of the game. It's story depends on the outcome of the last two levels.

[edit] On Ghost Recon

WMN news clips can be shown in the HUD of the player during game play to show current situation in civilian point of view.

[edit] Rainbow Six

WMN are in this game, more information are needed.

[edit] Similarity between the games

The news reporters in the games use the same models and names, and the voice actors may even be the same.

[edit] Fans' opinion

To fans of GR, the in-game characters themselves are people who tend to appear often, so Ubisoft tried to keep the most popular characters throughout the series. They also use many of the same voices that have appeared in Ghost Recon games and try to create a “bond” or relationship between the player and his team.
