World Ice Arena in Shenzhen is the first Olympic size commercial ice skating rink in all of China.

Opened on January 1, 2005, the rink is located in an ultra luxury complex called The MIXc at Citycrossing. This consists of a 5 story mall designed by RTKL of Los Angeles, an office tower, 3 luxury residential towers, the 43 story Grand Hyatt Shenzhen and an additional outdoor California style mall. Major tenants include Gucci (largest store in Asia), Louis Vuitton, Dunhill, Ermenigildo Zegna, Valentino, Coach, Escada, Prada, Hermes, Armani, as well as a luxury cinema complex operated by Golden Harvest. The cinema complex currently has 7 theatres with another 5 opening in 2009. This complex has 3 private theatres (Gold Class) with food and beverage service at your large first class airline type seats.

The ice arena is managed by Ted Wilson, an American who was formerly manager of Cityplaza Ice Palace and Festival Walk Glacier in Hong Kong. Mr. Wilson is General Manager of the rink, and Vice General Manager of the Citycrossing Complex which is owned and operated by China Resources Shenzhen, a major developer of luxury properties in China. Future projects with Olympic size ice rinks include the MIXc Hangzhou (opening 2009), The MIXc Shenyang (opening 2011), and a new mall/residential complex in Chengdu.

The skating school is directed by 1995 World Champion, 1994 and 1998 Olympic Bronze medalist, Chen Lu. Her husband, former Russian National Champion, World and Olympic medalist, Denis Petrov is the school's head coach.

In 2007, China Resources Land, owners of World Ice Arena announced plans to include Olympic size ice arena's in luxury commercial projects in Hangzhou, Shenyang and Chengdu. The Hangzhou World Ice Arena will open in September 2009, and followed by the other two cities in early 2010. Ted Wilson is the project director for the new rinks overseeing design aspects as well as fitting out, and hiring of staff.
