The World Heli Challenge

The world’s most extreme snow sporting event. It takes place each year at Mt. Cook in New Zealand. The 50 most extreme skiers and snowboarders attend the championships. The challenge is to tackle the most inaccessible, untouched terrain in the world on slopes never ridden by anyone before. One-thousand foot drops, avalanches, steeps that are basically standing at the edge of a skyscraper it is man versus man, man versus mountain and man versus death all at the same time. The Ski Channel holds the exclusive rights for this event http://www.theskichannel.com/the-world-heli-championships.php. World known action photographer Tony Harrington is the Event Director.
