Work hard, play hard is a corporate cultural philosophy that hard work should be rewarded with fun activities (including, for instance, outings to exotic locales). Its manifestations are commonly seen in sales/marketing departments and are often tied to performance targets.
It is also sometimes used in the common vernacular as an excuse for partying (e.g. "I work hard, so I play hard.")
Continental Airlines uses a variation of the term as its corporate slogan ("Work hard. Fly right.").
