[edit] Fielding circles
This is what I have learned from discussing with people : The fielding circles were first tried out in South African domestic cricket in the mid-70s. When World Series Cup started in 1977/8, the started using it from the very beginning. Initially, they had two circles for either wicket, but later merged it into a single oval. In 1977/8, they had 40 8-ball over matches, and the fielding restrictions applied for the first 10.
Can someone find a proper reference for this so that it can be added in the article ? Tintin 00:21, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

The various uniforms worn by the teams have taken on a cult status in Australia and New Zealand (see eg the "Beige Brigade"). Some pictures would be helpful for the article. BaHaReep 06:39, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Is this a quote (from the "rapprochement" section):
The feeling in many quarters was that when the Australian Board first found Packer at their throats, the rest of the cricket world supported them to the hilt; even to the extent of highly expensive court cases which cricket could ill afford. Now, when it suited Australia, they had brushed their friends aside to meet their own ends.

I have relegated this from B-class to Start-class (see above) because of doubts about categories and because the template at the foot of the article appears to be both redundant and of little use to the article or the project. If someone can ensure that it has sufficient categorisation and take appropriate action re the template, then I would have no problem with this becoming B-class again. It has the potential to achieve GA-class or higher but it must satisfy the B-class criteria first. --Jim Hardie (talk) 14:53, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
